Phil is the Head of Research at 1QBit, the world's first dedicated quantum computing software company.
1QBit is focused on unlocking the power of quantum computing for the finance industry by insulating users from the underlying advanced mathematics necessary to compute with quantum hardware.
In addition to his work at 1QBit, Goddard is President and Principal Consultant at Goddard Consulting. In this capacity Phil works with clients across the financial services, aerospace, automotive and petrochemical business sectors, developing custom numerical analysis, optimization and data visualization applications.
Goddard formerly held positions with The Mathworks, British Aerospace Dynamics (BAe Systems), and Woodside Offshore Petroleum.
He also holds a position as Visiting Lecturer in the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University.
Goddard graduated with a PhD degree from the University of Cambridge, where he specialized in advanced robust control system design, and a B.Eng. from the University of Western Australia.
