Chase Ink Business Cash welcome bonus

The current welcome bonus is $750 when you spend $6,000 on purchases in the first 3 months after account opening.

Keep that in mind when applying, as you'll want to ensure you'll be able to spend at least $2,000 a month on the card. Otherwise, you risk missing out on the bonus or overspending to try and meet the bonus, which you'll want to avoid.

You earn the $750 cash bonus as Ultimate Rewards® Points. This is important to understand if you have other Chase credit cards that allow transfers to travel partners, such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (see rates and fees) or the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card (see rates and fees). You can move points between Chase credit card accounts, which means the bonus and other rewards you earn with the Ink Business Cash can be converted to flexible travel rewards. Instead of redeeming for cash back or gift cards, you could transfer your points to an airline and book a luxury flight for a fraction of the cost of paying cash.

How to qualify for the Ink Business Cash welcome bonus

To earn the Chase Ink Business Cash Credit Card's welcome bonus, you need to get approved and spend $6,000 on purchases in the first three months after the account is opened. That's three months from the date the account is opened, not three months from when you receive the card in the mail.

Most transactions qualify as purchases and will help you earn the bonus. However, there are exceptions — fees, interest, cash advances and other cash-like transactions (lotto tickets, gambling charges, etc.) don't count as purchases and won't help you meet the $6,000 spending threshold.

You need some sort of business to qualify for a business credit card. But this could be a part-time endeavor, side hustle, freelance work or independent contractor gig. Completing a Chase business credit card application is slightly different from applying for a consumer card but it's not as complicated as it sounds. Depending on your business structure, for example, you may be able to use your Social Security number as your business tax ID.

You'll want a good to excellent credit score to increase your odds of approval. You should also abide by the unofficial Chase 5/24 rule, which says it's harder to get approved for certain Chase credit cards if you've opened five or more credit cards from any bank in the past 24 months..

Alternative business credit cards to consider

If the Ink Business Cash doesn't have what you're looking for in a business credit card, there are alternatives.

If you're looking for a business travel credit card, the Chase Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card has a reasonable $95 annual fee and earns transferable travel rewards. You'll also receive 3X points in a range of business-related categories on up to $150,000 in combined purchases each calendar year (then 1X points).
