Here is a look back with NBC Footage of the shots on March 30, 1981, when John Hinckley, Jr. attempted to assassinate U.S. President Ronald Reagan just 69 days into his presidency. The shots wounded the president, his press secretary James Brady, Washington police officer Thomas Delahanty and Secret Service Agent Timothy McCarthy as agents and police officers tackle Hinckley to the ground.
