What ever happened to Tesla’s Solar Roof tiles?

Elon Musk first unveiled prototypes of Tesla’s Solar Roof tiles in October 2016, and it started taking $1,000 deposits in 2017, but not many homes have gotten the tiles so far. CNBC met one homeowner who has already gotten the Solar Roof installed and Tesla says installations will increase later this year and into 2019.
