The US wants political stability in the Middle East: Energy official

The United States is not in the Middle East for oil, Frank Fannon, the U.S. assistant secretary of state for energy resources tells CNBC's Hadley Gamble at the Atlantic Council Global Energy Forum in Abu Dhabi. He says the U.S. wants to "ensure and support continued political stability" in the region.
