'Chances are high' the South African Covid variant is in the US: Illumina CEO

The CEO of the largest maker of genome sequencing equipment, Francis deSouza, told CNBC's "Squawk Box" Friday that the United States only sequences 0.3% of positive cases of Covid-19. He added that the U.S. should ideally be sequencing at least 5% of positive cases to get a good view of what’s happening in the community.
