Microsoft says a group of Chinese hackers targeted its email server

Microsoft says Chinese hackers have been targeting its email server on software using a newly discovered bug. The tech giant says the group has been trying to steal information from a number of American targets including universities, defense contractors, law firms and infectious-disease researchers. Microsoft also said it has released security upgrades to fix the vulnerabilities. Joanne Lipman, journalist and distinguished journalism fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, joined "Squawk Box" on Wednesday to discuss.
