Regent wants to disrupt coastal and island travel with its electric sea glider

Regent, a startup developing electric flying boats, has completed a series of test runs on the Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island to prove its unique vehicles can "float, foil and fly" as expected. The co-founder and CEO of Regent, Billy Thalheimer, said the company has already amassed a backlog of $7 billion worth of orders for its sea gliders. It's due to enter commercial service by the end of 2025, the company says.
