Boeing planning on hypersonic jets for commercial flights

Boeing Chairman and CEO Dennis Muilenburg told CNBC he expects hypersonic jets — planes traveling up to five times the speed of sound — could become a reality in the next decade. Such planes could make the trip from New York to Shanghai in two hours.
