10. Shih Tzu
This toy dog ranges from 9 to 16 pounds. The word Shih Tzu means "Lion."
9. Poodle
The only breed that comes in three sizes: Standard, Miniature and Toy. Poodles are known for their intelligence and come in a variey of colors.
8. Bulldog
Its gentle and protective nature are what makes the Bulldog one of the most popular breeds.
7. DachshundÂ
Known for their short legs and long bodies, these dogs have a great sense of smell and can be miniature or standard size.
6. Boxer
Boxers are great companion dogs, good with children and are also used as seeing-eye dogs.
5. Beagle
Like one of the most famous Beagles, Snoopy, these dogs are known for their joyful personality. They are known for their hunting ability.
4. Golden Retriever
With an average size of 55 to 75 pounds, these gentle, pleasant dogs have a golden-colored coat.
3. German Shepherd
A very dependable breed, the German Shepherd is family-friendly dog and also a police, guard and military dog.
2. Yorkshire Terrier
Also known as "Yorkies", these small toy dogs have long coats and lots of energy.
1. Labrador Retriever
The Labrador Retriever is a gentle, family-friendly dog and comes in three colors: yellow, black and chocolate.
