Some of the job requirements include 10 years of experience in row crop farming, experience in repair and preventive maintenance of John Deere equipment and a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities include what you might expect: Driving tractors, operating machinery, spraying fields and managing budgets.

So why is the spacecraft-maker looking to get into agriculture? Probably not because it plans to grow crops on other planets.

As Agriculture.com points out, it may be because SpaceX is looking for tax breaks.

In Texas companies can receive exemptions from sales taxes by buying agricultural equipment. The state also taxes farmland at a lower rate.

SpaceX did not return an email seeking comment by press time.
