In 1994, with $78 in the bank, Bert Jacobs and his brother John began selling Life Is Good T-shirts in the street. After two decades devoted to the mission to "Spread the Power of Optimism," their business has topped $100 million in revenue. Life Is Good devotes 10 percent of its profits annually to the Life Is Good Kids Foundation to help kids overcome poverty, violence and illness. The second youngest of six siblings from Boston, Jacobs credits his mother with teaching them to face life's bumps with a smile.
