As it happened: UBS net profit soars; global markets in the red

On Monday's Squawk Box Live we took an in-depth look at UBS, which reported a 53 percent rise in net profit as it released second-quarter earnings a day early.

But it wasn't enough to lift global markets. Asian shares were broadly in the red with the Shanghai Composite falling to multi-year lows. European stocks followed close behind with most major indices trading in negative territory.
