A crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe has collected more than $1.6 million in donations for the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando.

More than 41,000 people have donated to the campaign set up by human rights group Equality Florida, including corporate LGBT group Executive Pride, which donated $30,000 and Cricket Wireless, which donated $25,000, according to a NBC affiliate.

The campaign garnered $1 million faster than any other fundraiser in the site's history, GoFundMe officials reported via Twitter.

Social media users also reported that donors have flocked to local blood donation sites to give blood in the wake of the shooting.
