Coffee drinkers at Starbucks may have paid a little extra for their lattes last week.

The company revealed on Friday that it prematurely initiated a price hike it meant to institute on July 12. It has since fixed the glitch.

"The maximum any customer could have been overcharged is 30 cents per beverage," Starbucks said in a statement.

The company has hiked prices in the first week of July for the last two years, according to Eater. Last year, costs were bumped up between 5 cents and 20 cents depending on the drink and location.

"When Starbucks raises prices, it's usually just through the computer system and we find out after," one Starbucks barista told Eater.
