Competition in the fast-food burger space is heating up, but at the same time sales are cooling off. The fast food burger sector, America's biggest quick service food niche, hasn't grown in the past five years and actual burger sales have been going down. Shake Shack sales are way down from a year ago and McDonald's remains in the middle of a multi-year turnaround effort.
But more and more burger chains are coming into the market. Are there too many burger cooks in the kitchen?
