Donald Trump led the conversation during the third debate by halftime, according to Twitter.

Twitter said 57 percent of tweets on its platform were about the Republican candidate. Trump also lead social during the previous two debates. The presidential debates have been the top election-related conversation points on Twitter.

The top moments discussed on Twitter were around Hillary Clinton asking Trump to denounce Russia's espionage on the U.S. elections, comments around Trump allegedly using undocumented immigrants for his businesses, and discussions around trade deals and the economy, according to social media analytics company Simply Measured.

Prior to the debate, the most popular topics on Facebook were (in order): the WikiLeaks release, government ethics, voting integrity, Iraq, Syria and ISIS, and religion.

In addition, Simply Measured found that men led 52.1 percent of online chatter across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blogs and forums about Trump before the debate. Slightly over half of people mentioning Clinton on those channels were also men.
