There's another clue that Apple is still planning to and may launch its long-awaited wireless charging pad soon.

The box for Apple's second-generation AirPods, which were announced last week and are now shipping to customers, mentions the charging pad.

"Works with AirPower mat and Qi-certified chargers," the box reads, which you can see in the picture below.

Qi is the standard that allows the latest model of AirPods to charge wirelessly, which means they don't need to be plugged in.

AirPower was one of Apple's rare product misses. It was introduced at the September 2017 iPhone event as a pad that would allow customers to charge the iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods at the same time. Apple said it would launch in 2018 but it never did. Reports suggested the delay was due to units overheating.

It seemed like Apple might provide new details on AirPower last week, when it launched new iMacs, iPads and the latest AirPods. But again, it was a no show.

Apple hasn't said when AirPower will launch and declined to comment.
