Jim Cramer explains how Tesla changed the way we look at stocks

The surge in Tesla and other stocks tied to electric vehicles shows that investors have changed the way they evaluate stocks, CNBC's Jim Cramer said Tuesday.

Cramer said on "Squawk on the Street" that the high valuations for electric vehicle stocks shows that younger investors are betting on potential for world-changing technology instead of trying to calculate future profits and cash flows for companies.
