Here are the biggest calls on Wall Street on Friday KeyBanc upgraded Goodyear Tire to overweight from sector weight KeyBanc upgraded the tire company and said Goodyear was a solid recovery play stock. "We are upgrading GT to OW driven by the Co.'s numerous pathways to earnings upside through 2022E, as we expect GT to solidly outperform the U.S. replacement mkt. before any likely benefits from the latest tariffs outcome, and realize initial channel realignment gains in Europe." Deutsche Bank added a catalyst call buy idea on Tripadvisor Deutsche added a short term buy to the stock but reiterated its long-term hold rating and said the company would be a player in the "post vaccine travel recovery." "We rate Tripadviso r shares short-term Buy with a positive near-term risk/reward skew given direct exposure to a post vaccine travel recovery later this year, substantial fixed and variable cost reductions not well incorporated into consensus estimates, in our view, intriguing new product in the Tripadvisor Plus subscription plan that could drive a new bull case on shares." Piper Sandler upgraded Chevron to overweight from neutral Piper upgraded the oil and gas company and said it sees an "improved" free cash flow outlook. "Driven in part by operational issues, CVX has under-performed peers by 20% since late October. However, the updated capex outlook ($14-$16Bn/yr), has meaningfully improved the FCF outlook." Oppenheimer named Microsoft a top pick in 2021 Oppenheimer named the stock a top pick and said it was well positioned in the cloud space for 2021. "We believe we're entering the fourth compute cycle from centralized to decentralized cloud. Each of these companies is well-positioned to leverage unique infrastructure/customers for cloud/5G adoption during this transition with software. We see MSFT as better positioned than AWS/ GOOG as we cross the cloud chasm." Jefferies upgraded CVS to buy from hold Jefferies said in its upgrade of the retail pharmacy company that the coronavirus vaccine would drive traffic into stores. "Upgrading CVS to Buy based on our belief that its role in COVID-19 vaccinations will yield NT earnings upside. Vaccination activity should also drive store traffic and aid SSS performance for CVS's retail pharmacies." RBC upgraded D.R. Horton to outperform from sector perform RBC said in its upgrade of the home builder that the company is well positioned due to local market demand. "We upgrade DHI to Outperform from Sector Perform as we believe DHI's significant local market share better positions it to capture strong demand and mitigate land and labor constraints." Oppenheimer named Nvidia a top pick in 2021 Oppenheimer named Nvidia as a favorite stock in 2021 and said it sees "upside momentum." "Orders continue to improve, though upside remains limited by capacity constraints. Improving macro trends, easy comps, and improving supply support 2021 upside momentum for the group. NVDA , MRVL, and MPWR are our top growth picks." Mizuho named Facebook a top pick in 2021 Mizuho named Facebook a top pick and said it sees "favorable" ecommerce and new product trends that could lead to more ad spending. "We believe that regulatory concerns are overstated using history as a proxy. At the same time, we expect favorable trends from a mix shift to ecommerce/shopping advertising and new products that could unlock small midsize business ad spending." Needham downgraded Lam Research to hold from buy Needham downgraded the semiconductor processing equipment company mainly on valuation. "It is never easy to downgrade the stock of a well-managed and top-performing company within a sector. However, we believe valuation appears full on expectations that may be too aggressive. After being a LRCX bull since we initiated coverage in Dec'18, we downgrade the stock to Hold and move to the sidelines." Evercore ISI upgraded Tesla to inline from underperform Evercore said in its upgrade of the stock that it had gotten the stock wrong in the past but thinks Tesla can capitalize on a Biden climate bill among other things. "we upgrade TSLA from Underperform to Inline to more accurately reflect a rating for how we typically discuss the stock. Whether we call it valuation confusion or valuation rotation (into full Tech from hybrid growth Auto & Tech), we have been on the considerably wrong side of TSLA for over a year now." Loop named Chipotle a top pick in 2021 Loop named the restaurant franchise company as a "favorite" pick in 2021 and said it had "multiple levers" in place to drive outperformance. "Following recent investor calls with management, CMG is one of our favorite restaurant names for 2021. We remain confident that CMG has multiple levers in place to drive strong performance over the next several years. The rollout of drive-thru locations, menu innovation, accelerating unit growth and the L-T potential for additional dayparts should provide a long tailwind for comps/revenue growth." Bank of America upgraded JetBlue to buy from neutral Bank of America upgraded the airline company and said it would outperform due to its network in "leisure-oriented" markets. "Our target multiple is above JBLU 's historical average which we believe is reasonable given still depressed 2022 earnings and strong leisure-oriented markets."
