A pair of cowboy boots donated and signed by Warren Buffett has sold for $2700 at a Nebraska charity auction.
That's $600 more than the $2100 high bid for boots signed by Buffett's friend and friendly competitor, Bill Gates.
(They compete both at the bridge table and in the Forbes ranking of the world's billionaires. Lately, they've been working together to make global philanthropy more effective.)
The results of the Saturday night bidding at this year's Cattlemen's Ball of Nebraska, held tonight in Doniphan (about 150 miles west of Omaha), have just been posted on Proxibid.
Larry the Cable Guy's autographed boots went for the relative bargain price of $700.
