CNBC media partner at ITU Telecom World 2009

CNBC, the leading global business and financial news channel, has become a media partner of ITU Telecom World 2009, the global telecommunication and information communication technology event, which takes place 5-9 October in Geneva, Switzerland.

CNBC will be reporting live from the event, speaking with key executives from the industry. CNBC presenter Patricia Szarvas will moderate a CEO roundtable, ‘Globalisation and Localisation’, looking at the global economy and how wider access to devices and services is changing consumer habits. Panellists include Adolfo Hernandez, President EMEA of Alcatel-Lucent, Naguib Sawiris, Chairman and CEO of Orascom Telecom and Dr Julio Linares Lopez, COO of Telefónica, among others.

The partnership will see CNBC branding incorporated into marketing materials for the event. This includes print advertising, online promotion as well as plasma screens carrying CNBC’s live output throughout the duration of the conference. CNBC is airing spot advertisements to promote the event.
