Warren Buffett has come out ahead of Pimco's Bill Gross as the world's best investor, according to a poll of Bloomberg terminal subscribers.

In a news release, Bloomberg says over 23 percent of those surveyed regard Buffett as the "best assessor of financial markets."

Gross, co-chief investment officer of Pacific Investment Management Company, is in second place with 16 percent.

They are followed by by Geroge Soros, Nouriel Roubini and Marc Faber.

Bloomberg notes, however, that among just U.S. investors, "Pimco's Gross rated as highly as Buffett," indicating that a great deal of Buffett's support came from overseas.

The Bloomberg Global Poll, conducted by Selzer & Company, interviewed a random sample of 1452 subscribers to the Bloomberg Professional service.
