CNBC has largest presence ever at the World Economic Forum annual meeting 2010

CNBC, the leading business and financial news channel, will provide its most extensive event coverage at this year’s World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland (27-31 January). Across its on-air and online platforms, CNBC will provide live interviews and in-depth analysis on the ground as well as host and broadcast two official debates.

CNBC will have anchors Maria Bartiromo, Becky Quick, Geoff Cutmore and Ross Westgate on the ground giving viewers unprecedented interviews and analysis with the attending CEOs, economists, policy makers and heads of state.

CNBC.com will have a dedicated section at http://davos.cnbc.com which will host all interviews from the event, as well as exclusive news reports, blogs from reporters and presenters including Maria Bartiromo and Becky Quick, plus a behind-the-scenes ‘Heard in Davos‘ blog. There will also be exclusive guest articles each day from CEOs and economists and daily reader polls on news coming out of the event. Viewers will also have the opportunity to have their questions put directly to delegates, via email to Davos@cnbc.com.

CNBC’s largest presence at the event will also see its local language affiliates reporting live, including TVN CNBC Biznes (Poland); CNBC TV18 (India); CNBC-e (Turkey); CNBC Arabiya and CNBC Africa. CNBC is now in its fifth year as an official World Economic Forum partner.

Unique CNBC programming

CNBC will host and broadcast for the first time, two official debates at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting:

On Wednesday, 27 January (10.30am-12.00pm CET) ‘Back to the Future: The Next Global Crisis’ hosted by Maria Bartiromo, will see six leading CEOs, policy makers and economists examine the challenges and choices to be made to prevent another global crisis. Panelists include: Jacob Frenkel, Chairman of JPMorgan Chase International; DrZhu Min, Deputy Governor of the People's Bank of China; Lord Levene, Chairman, Lloyd's of London and Barney Frank, Congressman from Massachusetts (Democrat) and Chairman, Financial Services Committee, USA.

The panel will be questioned by a front row of leading experts, including Deven Sharma, President of Standard & Poor’s; Duncan Niederauer, CEO NYSE Euronext; Ibrahim Dabdoub, Chairman, National Bank of Kuwait; Geoff Riddell, CEO, Zurich Financial Services, Global Corporate and Mike Mack, CEO, Syngenta.

The debate will air globally on CNBC and can be seen in the UK at 10.00pm on Friday, 29 January.

The second panel debate, ‘Gender Agenda: Putting Parity into Practice’, hosted by Ross Westgate, will take place on Saturday, 30 January at 9.00am-10.00am CET and will examine gender equality in business. It will broadcast on CNBC in the UK at 10.00pm on Thursday, 4 February.

Panelists for this debate include: Orit Gadiesh, Chairman, Bain & Company; Carlos Ghosn, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Renault-Nissan Alliance; Arianna Huffington, Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Huffington Post; Muhtar A. Kent, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, The Coca-Cola Company; Sir Martin Sorrell, Group Chief Executive, WPP.

CNBC will also broadcast a special half-hour wrap-up programme anchored from Davos by Geoff Cutmore, which will feature all the best interviews and analysis from this year’s event. This special will air on 1 February in the UK at 22.00.
