The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is currently offering a huge welcome bonus, but only until Jan. 5, 2026. It's the last chance for interested applicants to apply and (pending approval) earn 100,000 bonus miles after spending $10,000 within the first six months of account opening.
While the Venture X is considered a premium credit card, the $395 annual fee is much more affordable than what you'd pay for other luxury travel cards. If you're eyeing a premium credit card to kick off 2026, now is a great time to apply for the Venture X before the bonus goes away.
Is the Capital One Venture X 100K bonus worth it?
The Capital One Venture X typically features a 75,000-mile welcome bonus for new cardmembers, making its 100,000-mile bonus significantly elevated.
You can easily redeem Capital One miles for at least 1 cent each toward travel, making the Capital One Venture X's 100,000-mile bonus worth at least $1,000 in travel. The miles you earn can also be redeemed with Capital One's travel partners. This unlocks rewards transfer opportunities with airline and hotel partners and potentially increases the value you receive.
While the Venture X does come with a $395 annual fee, it can be easily offset by the card's benefits. The card features a $300 annual credit for bookings through Capital One Travel, and you'll receive 10,000 bonus miles each card anniversary (worth at least $100 in travel). With just those two perks, you're already in the positive; that's not even factoring in the large welcome offer, additional statement credits and 2X miles on every purchase.

Lounge access
Venture X cardholders receive complimentary airport lounge access, but starting Feb. 1, 2026, you'll have to pay extra for guests. You can unlock the complimentary guest access for Capital One Lounges (two guests) and Capital One Landing locations (one guest) after spending $75,000 on your card in a calendar year. However, even then, you'll have to pay a per visit fee to bring anyone along to a participating Priority Pass™ airport lounge.
With the American Express Platinum, up to two guests can join you at participating Priority Pass™ lounge locations for no extra change. The card does charge for guest lounge access to Centurion Lounges, though, unless you spend $75,000 in eligible purchases per calendar year.
Lastly, the Sapphire Reserve allows you to bring up to two guests at no extra charge, including to Priority Pass lounges and Chase Sapphire lounges.
Statement credits
The Chase Sapphire Reserve and Amex Platinum also offer more when it comes to statement credits and rewards categories.
In particular, both cards feature a laundry list of statement credits worth well of $1,000 in value each year, compared to the Venture X's two statement credit opportunities. If you're most interested in the Venture X's $300 annual travel credit, note that the Sapphire Reserve also offers a $300 travel credit, but its much easier to use; it applies to all eligible travel purchases and isn't restricted to Chase Travel℠ bookings.
Of course, you may prefer the Venture X's lower annual fee and fewer luxury credits rather than paying $400 or $500 more per year for use-it-or-lose-it perks.
Welcome offers
Comparing the Venture X to the Chase Sapphire Reserve, the Reserve's welcome bonus takes the cake. Not only does the Sapphire Reserve offer more rewards, but it also requires $4,000 less in spending. Earn 100,000 bonus points after spending $6,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.
For the Amex Platinum, the math isn't quite as simple; you won't know the exact welcome bonus amount you'll receive until after you've been approved for the card. You may be able to earn as high as 175,000 Membership Rewards® points (75,000 more than the Venture X) after spending $12,000 in eligible purchases on your new card in your first six months of card membership.
