Warren Buffett heads to Chicago next week as the prime attraction at a pair of fund-raising events on behalf of Barack Obama's White House bid.

Buffett had been supporting both Obama and Hillary Clinton for President. Now that Clinton is effectively out of the race, he turns his attention to the Illinois Senator.

UPDATE: WARREN BUFFETT TO APPEAR LIVE ON CNBC'S POWER LUNCH WEDNESDAY

Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times writes from Washington that Buffett will attend a 90-minute "economic roundtable", followed by a private dinner, next Wednesday, July 2.

All you have to do to attend one of the two events is give $28,500 to the cause, or raise that amount from others.

The roundtable, scheduled for 5p to 6:30p CT at the offices of Ariel Investments, will be hosted by:

  • Penny Pritzker, Obama for America National Finance Chair
  • Valerie Jarrett, Obama for America Senior Advisor
  • Austan Goolsbee, Obama for America Senior Economic Advisor
  • John Rogers Jr., Obama for America Illinois Finance Co-Chair

The private dinner is scheduled for 7p CT at Pritzker's home.

There's no mention in the invitation posted by Sweet whether Obama himself will be present.
