Chase launches increased business credit card offers: Earn up to 200,000 bonus points

These bonuses match or exceed the largest offers we've ever seen for these cards.

Share

Chase has unveiled increased offers for three of the top business credit cards: Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card (see rates and fees), Ink Business Cash® Credit Card (see rates and fees) and Sapphire Reserve for BusinessSM (see rates and fees).

These welcome bonuses match or exceed the biggest bonuses we've ever seen for these cards. Depending on how you redeem the rewards, these bonuses are worth at least $1,000 to $2,000, which places them among the most valuable intro offers currently available.

Let's take a look at what each of these cards offers so you can figure out if any of these deals are a good fit for you.

No-annual-fee Ink Business cards

The Ink Business Cash and Ink Business Unlimited typically have $750 cash-back welcome bonuses. And the previous top offer for these cards was worth $900. Right now, you can earn $1,000 cash back after spending $8,000 on purchases in the first four months after account opening.

Those are incredible bonuses for credit cards with no annual fee. Although these are both cash-back cards, you earn the rewards as Chase Ultimate Rewards® points. That means, if you combine your points with other Chase cards that allow point transfers, you transfer the cash back you earn with these cards to any Chase travel partner.

Both cards also feature a 0% intro APR on purchases for the first 12 months from account opening (then a variable APR of 16.74% to 24.74% applies), making either a good option for financing large purchases or investing in your business.

The Ink Business Cash® Credit Card is a no-annual-fee cash-back business card that's especially rewarding at office supply stores and gas stations.

The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card is a flat-rate cash-back card with a strong intro-APR offer for purchases.

  • Intro APR for purchases
  • Valuable welcome bonus
  • No annual fee
  • You can't transfer rewards to travel partners without pairing it with another Chase card
  • Has a foreign transaction fee

Rewards

Earn 1.5% cash back on every purchase made for your business

Balance transfer fee

Either $5 or 5% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater

Foreign transaction fee

3% of each transaction in U.S. dollars

The main difference between these cards is how they earn cash back on purchases. The Ink Business Unlimited earns at least 1.5% back on all purchases, which makes it a good option for spending that falls outside of typical bonus categories.

The Ink Business Cash is great for office supply stores, internet, cable and phone services because it earns 5% cash back on the first $25,000 in combined purchases in those categories each account anniversary year (then 1% back). It also earns 2% cash back on the first $25,000 spent at restaurants and gas purchases each account anniversary year (then 1% back).

If you review your typical business expenditures, you should have a clear picture of which card will be more rewarding for you.

Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business

The Sapphire Reserve for Business is a luxury business travel credit card, and its current welcome bonus is 50,000 points larger than its standard bonus. You can earn 200,000 bonus points after you spend $30,000 on purchases in your first six months from account opening.

This is a hefty spending requirement, but it's actually more reasonable than it first appears because you have six months to meet it. That averages out to $5,000 in spending per month, which is a lower monthly average than what was required with the previous (and smaller) intro bonus.

The biggest question to ask yourself with this card: Is it worth the $795 annual fee? It has over $2,000 in annual credits and other benefits. Its annual $300 travel credit is easy to use. The first $300 in eligible travel purchases is automatically reimbursed through statement credits with no activation required. But its other perks aren't as straightforward, including benefits for Lyft, DoorDash, The Edithotel stays, ZipRecruiter, Google Workspace and more.

Which offer makes sense for you?

If you're interested in any of these credit cards, now is the right time to apply — the welcome offers have never been bigger. Picking the right card largely comes down to how much you plan to use travel rewards and other travel perks.

For many small or growing businesses and side hustles, the Ink Business Unlimited and Ink Business Cash are better fits. Neither charges an annual fee, you get a generous intro APR and the welcome offers are easier to earn.

Down the road, if you decide you want transferable travel rewards, you can pair either of these cards with a Chase travel card like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (see rates and fees), Chase Sapphire Reserve® (see rates and fees) or Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card (see rates and fees).

The Sapphire Reserve for Business is aimed at travelers who want luxury benefits, like airport lounge access and top-tier travel protections. It offers more than enough benefits to offset its annual cost, but many of the credits are earned in smaller monthly or semiannual increments. It's also important to think carefully about how likely you are to make the most of certain features. Are ZipRecruiter, Google Workspace and DoorDash already regular purchases for you? If not, you may not find much value in those perks.

How to qualify for these offers

These are small business cards, but qualifying may not be as difficult as it seems. You don't need a full-time business, a formal legal structure (like an LLC) or even an Employer Identification Number (EIN) to apply. If you have a side hustle or freelance gig, you can apply as a sole proprietor and use your Social Security number as your business tax ID.

These three business cards all require a good to excellent credit score, so you'll typically need a FICO Score of at least 670 to qualify. In addition, you may not be eligible for the welcome bonus if you've had the card before.

The terms for the Ink Business Unlimited and Ink Business Cash state:

The new cardmember bonus may not be available to you if you have ever had this card or any other Chase for Business card without an annual fee.

The Sapphire Reserve for Business's welcome offer "...may not be available to you if you have ever had this card."

Also, these cards are typically subject to the unofficial Chase 5/24 rule. This guideline dramatically decreases your approval chances if you've opened five or more cards from any bank in the previous 24 months. One thing to note is that while these cards are subject to the 5/24 rule, they won't add to your 5/24 count; business accounts won't appear on your personal credit report.

FAQs

While the $900 bonus is no longer available for this card, you can receive an even higher $1,000 in bonus cash back after spending $8,000 on purchases in the first four months from account opening.

Most Chase business credit cards require a good to excellent credit score, of a FICO Score of at least 670.

The Ink Business Unlimited is relatively hard to get, as it requires at least a good credit score.
