Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy switched into Russian in his most recent video address, directly appealing to Russian soldiers to stop fighting in Ukraine, the Associated Press reported.
"Every Russian soldier can still save his own life. It's better for you to survive in Russia than to perish on our land," Zelenskyy said.
In Scandinavia, Sweden scrambled warplanes to intercept a Russian plane that briefly entered its airspace. Sweden identified the aircraft as a Russian AN-30, which is a type used for reconnaissance and aerial photography.
The Swedish government is currently debating whether to join NATO, as is its Baltic Sea neighbor Finland.
Meanwhile in Poland, the capital city of Warsaw is under serious strain as it tries to find housing, classrooms and other resources for Ukrainian refugees, according to NBC News.
