Chase Ink Business Preferred welcome bonus

New Ink Business Preferred cardholders can earn 100k bonus points after you spend $8,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

There are also 14 Chase Ultimate Rewards 1:1 transfer partners you'll have access to as an Ink Business Preferred cardholder. By taking advantage of the best that each travel partner offers, you can dramatically increase the value of your Chase points. For example, you can book a one-way business class flight (under 4,000 miles) from the U.S. to Europe on a Star Alliance airline such as United for 80,000 Aeroplan miles, which is a 1:1 transfer partner with Chase.

Several of Chase's transfer partners use dynamic pricing, so you have to shop around to find the best deal for you.

Chase Ink Business Preferred rewards

The Ink Business Preferred is an exceptionally valuable business card because it earns Chase Ultimate Rewards points, and it earns them on common business expenses. You'll earn 3X points on the first $150,000 spent in combined purchases in select categories each account anniversary year; those categories are:

  • Travel
  • Shipping
  • Internet, cable and phone services
  • Advertising purchases with social media sites and search engines

You'll also earn 1X points on all other purchases.

Chase Ink Business Preferred benefits

The card also has a strong list of travel and purchase protections. Eligible purchases qualify for:

  • Trip cancellation and interruption protection
  • Travel and emergency assistance services
  • Rental car collision damage waiver
  • Roadside dispatch
  • Purchase protection
  • Extended warranty protection
  • Cell phone protection

This card has no foreign transaction fees and no additional fee for employee cards.

Chase Ink Business Preferred eligibility

To have the best chance at being approved for the Ink Business Preferred, you'll need a good to excellent credit score. It's also a small business card, so you'll need some type of business to qualify; however, that doesn't mean it needs to be a full-time business; you may be eligible with a side hustle or freelance gig. For more details on how to apply, take a look at our guide on how to apply for a Chase business credit card.

Chase also has an unofficial 5/24 rule and if you have opened five or more credit cards from any bank in the past 24 months, you're less likely to be approved for a new Chase credit card.

Alternative cards to consider

The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express is a great no-annual-fee business card (see rates and fees) because it also earns transferable points. You'll earn 2X American Express Membership Rewards points when you spend up to $50,000 on purchases using the card each year (then 1X points; terms and limitations apply). This makes it a good option if you're just starting a business, even though it doesn't have the massive intro bonus that you'll get with the Ink Business Preferred.
