How to get Super Bowl LVII tickets and VIP packages with points from multiple rewards programs

Marriott Bonvoy points can be used for a lot more than just hotel stays.

If you're an NFL fan who wants to attend the Super Bowl but aren't willing to drop five figures on a couple of tickets, there may be another way to attend one of the country's largest sporting events.

Marriott Bonvoy loyalty members currently have the opportunity to bid Marriott points on Super Bowl LVII packages through the Marriott Bonvoy Moments program. The packages are being sold to the highest bidder and include Super Bowl tickets, hotel accommodations, and exclusive experiences.

Super Bowl LVII will be held on Feb. 12, 2023 at State Farm Stadium, just outside of Phoenix, Arizona. While we don't know yet what teams will play, it has been confirmed that Rihanna will take the stage to headline the halftime show.

Bidding for Super Bowl tickets through Marriott

There are currently six different types of Super Bowl packages up for auction, as well as a special package available exclusively to certain co-branded Marriott credit cardholders. The more basic options have as many as five packages available, so there are several opportunities to win.

All packages include at least two tickets to the game, a three or four-night stay at the Westin Phoenix Downtown, a members-only game day brunch and ground transportation to and from the game. Some of the offerings also include access to suites, opportunities to meet players and other VIP experiences. But be forewarned, it's not going to be cheap to win the auctions for any of these packages.

At the time of writing, bidding on the most basic option starts at one million points and the top-tier packages are nearing two million points. The auctions close on Dec. 20, so expect the bids to only climb from here.

Rewards experts generally value Marriott Bonvoy points between 0.7 and 1 cent apiece. Although expensive, considering Super Bowl tickets start around $5,000 apiece and many hotels in the area are already fully booked, it could be worth spending north of a million Marriott points on one of these packages.

To bid, simply head to the Marriott Bonvoy Moments platform and select the package you're interested in. You can either place a one-time bid or enter the maximum number of points you're willing to spend and the system will automatically outbid others until you reach the amount specified.

A few things to note: You must have the necessary points in your account in order to place a bid, and all redemptions are final. If you win, you'll be notified by email.

Bottom line

Super Bowl tickets are expensive, but if you have a hoard of Marriott Bonvoy points you may be able to win packages available through the Marriott Bonvoy Moments program.

These Super Bowl packages are being sold to the highest bidders and include tickets to the game, hotel accommodations, and exclusive experiences. You'll still be on the hook for airfare to Phoenix, but the potential value of these prizes is a lucrative use of your Marriott points.

Unfortunately, if you don't have enough Marriott points to win one of the Super Bowl packages you may have a tough time using them to save money on hotel stays. As of writing, there are no Marriott hotels in the Phoenix area with award rooms available over Super Bowl weekend.
