Mahendra joined State Bank of India in 1982, and took his post in Osaka Branch in 1989. Since 1995, he had worked at Merrill Lynch for five years, and was highly evaluated for his skills as analyst for internet and software in Japan, publishing industry and company reports in that area that consistently received high ratings in market surveys.

In May 2000, joined ip Trend (as of now Trend Micro Incorporated) as COO / CFO, and in 2001, appointed as COO at Trend Micro Incorporated. In this capacity, he is responsible for Finance, legal, Information services, Data center operations, and technical support.
