Ryan Ruggiero has been part of the CNBC family since 2006. He currently serves as the Director of Newsroom Outreach Strategy and Initiatives and Senior Assignment Desk Manager for CNBC. Ruggiero is responsible for helping oversee all of the network's global newsgathering coverage and managing CNBC's award-winning internship program

With over 15 years of experience in newsgathering, Ruggiero provides leadership to interns, social media editors, producers, correspondents and anchors across the newsroom in order to help cover the world of business and finance across all of CNBC's global platforms. As a manager for the network's award-winning internship program, Ruggiero has recruited, trained and mentored more than 100 students from all over the world as interns within the CNBC family, many of whom are now CNBC employees. In addition to helping run the assignment desk, Ruggiero was one of the key architects of CNBC's social media strategy which as now become a leader among business news outlets.

Ruggiero won the 2019 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Digital Journalism Article for his piece, Bermuda Same-sex Marriage Ban Means Trouble for Tourism and Cruise Ships.

Ruggiero launched his career as an intern at WDHD-TV in 2002, the local NBC station in Boston. He quickly rose through the ranks from desk assistant to running the assignment desk before joining the team at CNBC. Ruggiero holds a BSBA in Accounting from Suffolk University, where he graduated cum laude.
